Maputo,07 March (FUNAE) – The member countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have undertaken to finalise the adoption of the various regulatory aspects with a view to making the energy market more attractive for the private sector.
The commitment was made during the first edition of SADC’s Sustainable Energy Week, recently held in Botswana, which, among several aspects, aims to boost political synergies for a sustainable energy transition in the regional bloc.
At the meeting, which is also a platform for dialogue, Mozambique was represented by a delegation headed by the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estevão Pale, and the FUNAE that was part of it by the PCA, Isália Dimene, and the Director of the Private Sector Care Division, Mussa Mane.
According to Director Mussa, in addition to touching experiences, countries have shared the challenges that are, by the way, common in moving together towards the United Nations goal of universalising access to energy by 2030.
The forum is, on the other hand, a planning mechanism with a view to ensuring standards and standards conducive to energy efficiency desired by the bloc countries. The next meeting will take place in Zimbabwe.
