The institution is part of the Mozambican presidential delegation that participates in meetings in Brussels to mobilise investments in renewable energy between the 17th and 18th of the month.
The Energy Fund (FUNAE) is part of the presidential delegation that participates on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Debates of RENMOZ 2026 in Europe, an event that will take place in the city of Brussels, Belgium, and which aims to deepen partnerships in renewable energy through a model of cooperation aimed at mobilizing climate finance.
During the two days of the meeting, the Government of Mozambique and representatives of the European private sector will discuss ways to transform national commitments into structured and investment-ready programmes.
According to Isália Munguambe Dimene – FUNAE's PCA, participation in the event represents an opportunity to strengthen strategic partnerships with European renewable energy companies.
“Our expectation is to establish partnerships with the European company in the renewable energy sector, focusing on the attractiveness of investments to finance off-network electrification projects with a view to achieving universal access to energy by 2030", he said.
Mozambique's National Energy Compact sets the goal of achieving universal access to electricity by 2030. To achieve this objective, the ongoing effort is considered essential, given that a large part of the Mozambican population lives in rural areas and still has no access to the public electricity network.
In this context, renewable energy-based solutions are the most viable and sustainable alternative to ensuring access to energy in rural communities, contributing to the achievement of the objectives set out in the National Energy Compact.
