The Chairman of the Management Board of the Energy Fund (FUNAE), Isália Munguambe Dimene, highlighted in Brussels the potential of the Mozambican energy market, highlighting concrete opportunities for sustainable investment, with particular focus on solutions outside the network and renewable energy.
The intervention took place in the "Vision of Mozambique for the energy sector and priorities" panel under RENMOZ 2026, which brings together representatives of the Government of Mozambique and European partners to strengthen cooperation in the energy transition.
During its presentation, the PCA showed that Mozambique is structuring an increasingly investment-friendly environment based on ongoing reforms and strategic instruments such as the country platform, which improves institutional coordination, aligns funding and increases predictability for investors in the development of Mini-Networks programs.
With an estimated population of 32.4 million inhabitants and an estimated energy access rate of just over 65%, the country still has a significant space for expansion, providing a strategic opportunity for decentralised solutions. Renewable energy currently accounts for about 11% of the energy mix, with a growth target of 30% by 2030, strengthening the national commitment to energy transition.
The participation of FUNAE in this event reinforces Mozambique's position as an emerging and strategic market for investment in the energy sector, making room for strengthening partnerships and mobilization of funding for sustainable electrification solutions.
