Repossessed new FUNAE PCA

The Prime Minister, Benvida Levi, took up today in Maputo, Mety Oreste Gondola as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Energy Fund, FP (FUNAE), an institution whose mission is to contribute to universal access to energy services and to promote the active participation of the private sector.

Mety Gondola succeeds Enga Isália Munguambe Dimene.

Acting at the investiture ceremony, Benvida Levi urged the new FUNAE PCA and its work team to focus their efforts on the materialisation of programmes and actions that contribute to the achievement of the electrification targets of the headquarters of the Administrative Posts, as provided for in the Government's Five Year Programme (FFP) 2025-2029.

The governor also highlighted the need for FUNAE to improve coordination and coordination mechanisms with development partners and the private sector, with a view to mobilising investments to accelerate the implementation of projects, ensuring that the population living in areas not yet covered by the National Electric Network can, in the short term, benefit from this essential resource for development.

In this context, the FUNAE must reaffirm itself as an increasingly strategic institution in the promotion of sustainable, inclusive and resilient energy solutions, ensuring, throughout the national territory, the generation, access and use of electricity through renewable energy solutions (hydric and mini-networks).
